April Lockhart
April Lockhart is a born on July 4, 1995. When she was in the 7th grade she began to take guitar lessons and piano lessons. This ignited her passion for songwriting. April's very first song was called Different. She wrote it at the age of 12. The singer spent much of her time when she was 14 composing songs and experimenting with music. Over the next few months, she started taking notes together with her dad on trips to LA in addition to NY. April also added additional themes to the song "Take My Hand" to help her friends who dealt with problems like peer pressure, issues, or even teenager suicide. Lockhart is an influencer in the beauty and lifestyle industry with a growing following. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia in partnership, as well as being a lifestyle expert. Lockhart was never born having a left-handed hand, which is what makes her the person she is. It's just not the whole story. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore her disability. However, it doesn't emphasize her disability. What is the message? This is the message: We all have multiple identities and are way more diverse than we think we are. I do not want this to be the only thing that defines me. I don't want to be a disability influencer where it's the only thing I talk about because there are so many other things about me Lockhart speaks via video from her residence in Nashville. It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do every day as normal and have found my own way to adjust to things. It's an integral element of my life so it is important that we talk about the subject. Self-acceptance can be a marathon for a lifetime but Lockhart is an absolute inspiration for this aspect. However, she acknowledges going through periods of being uncomfortable with her body, at times, not being confident in wearing specific types of clothes showing off her arms. Now, though she dons what she's comfortable in and post photos in those outfits to social media, she is proud of herself. The journey itself is what I'm not sure if will ever be the end about self-love. It's the same for everybody regardless of the level of insecurity. I believe that it's really important to surround yourself with those who can see and know your true heart.
